EGR vacuum?

Does anyone happen to know where the vacuum from the top of the egr valve goes? just got this 81 cutlass 3.8 and the line is just open... i can post pics of what im talking about if need be
 
I would think it should go to an EGR solenoid Block. On the V6 I think it was on a bracket above the passenger side valve cover? someone check me on that
 
1981 is a tricky year because it's the first year for the CCC setup on most models. Here is a link to a vacuum diagram for the 1981 3.8, but not necessarily specific to a G body.

Based on the diagram, There is no EGR solenoid. The EGR is plumbed into a thermal vacuum switch (TVS).

correct, the buick 3.8 (also 4.1) EGR valve connects to a thermal vacuum switch at the front of the intake. it has 2 lines connected to it, one from the carb, the other to the EGR. both ports SHOULD have a letter next to them telling you what they connect to, C for carb and the other goes to the EGR.
