Hello, I have this delema with my wiper motor...So I had it tested with a friend of mine thats an car electrian, and he tested the wiper motor and told me that the motor was bad and that I needed a switch to get it going. I went to Autozone and bought a brand new wiper motor and a new turn signal switch that controls the wiper motor and signals my turn lights, I think you guys know what I mean and installed it. But thats not the switch he was talking about, i think he said it goes below the sterring colum?????

He did mention to me that I was missing a switch, but he never told me what switch, he was the only one that knew what switch to get...!!!!!! LOL...

Hes (locked up)!!!!! (Great)!!! and I dont want to an Electric shop and have them charge me alot of $$$, if its going to be an easy fix.

Is there anyone out there that can hook me up with some info and let me know what I need to get it going.

Its a 1980...Yes it is on the column on top of the tilt lever, he only test the motor with a battery and told me that the motor wasent working. The MOTOR should be working since its new and been replaced.

As for the the right kind of column switch ......I really dont know I only got what i was suppose to get from the specs of my car, its the one that dosent have the wire connected to it ..not unless the column was updated to a newer verion, but i doubt it, it was all origianl when i got it..Posted some pics...

But I have not checked the white wire..... where is that connected to, there are so many white wires under the column to tell you the truth..lol......is it on the column? or the wiper motor? wheres trhe white wire? lmao...
Im pretty sure the fuse is ok..will it say" wiper motor" on the fuse box?

Have they worked since you got the car?

AFAIK the wiper switch "should" have been mounted on the dash for that year. I'd guess someone swapped the column to a 82+. I don't believe you can just swap the swith to the stalk style without re-pinning some of the wires.

DAYUM.....Yeah when i got the car, the column all ready came like that....so i really dont know if the column has been changed...there was no wiper switch on the dash cluster...was always on the column...so should i go to an elctrian???

But cking the fuse box, the fuse box where the wiper fuse goes into looks alittle burned out and the fuse is alittle loose....could that be the problem....i hope i dont need to relace the hole fuse box.

I know how you feel my wipers were working great one day and the very next day they didnt work anymore. My actualy switch is mounted right next to the headlight switch. I dont think that is what it is and I dont think it is a fuse. I hope its not the motor. It looks like a real pain to change. Any have any ideas on my issue by any chance?
