Hey everyone, decided that after owning my camino for 5 years and looking at this site everynow and then that I should join.. I got this car when I was 12, I paid for half and my parents the other half. Even though I paid half it was a christmas present and I was really surprised, Ive loved el caminos for a long time so long that im actually not able to tell you how old I was haha. But anyway on to the car. The paint and body were re-done not to sure how long ago, but its a metalic blue color with a 2 in cowl hood lowerd all the way around on some 15 inch crager mags. The guy told my parents it was a 350 but since it was a surprise I couldnt run the numbers my self. And well when I got home later that day I ran the numbers it came out to a 1980 305. But it didnt really bother me I was 12 and had my perfect dream car. So over the years I hoped up the 305 with parts I could later transfer onto a 350. I put a 600cfm eddy carb and performer manifold, headers, and exhaust. I waited 4 years to finally drive this car and driving home from my grandmas one night on the interstate the ol' girl started to die on me and out went the cam. 8 lifters were concaved.. But I just pulled the spark plug wire out of the number 7 piston (it was the first and only until may to go) and it was fine until last month. Now I bought a 1980 4 bolt main 350 back in january. It was at a buddys house and I brought it home last month and pulled my engine out 2 weeks ago. I bought the engine for 100 bucks with a rocker stud broken off of the left crappy 882 heads. So I coulda gone to the junk yard and been fine with some 882 heads but Id hate not having any power. I bought a set of 062 vortecs perfect for 150 bucks, came with the rockers and valve covers. Sold my old manifold and selling my 416 heads. So far Ive broke even on this whole engine swap!! 8) . btw the 350 has been rebuilt bored .30 over. I bought a northern auto 350 enigne kit with hyper pistons, scat crank, and forged I beam rods. And have a 60103 voodoo cam, with a t350 trans with a shift kit and 2200 stall, and 3.73 gears. Hopefully I'll have this car done by next month and get her ready for school. And if your still reading this I congratulate you!! haha
