so, im building my new set up. ive got a 383 stroker fully built eldlebrock performer heads, the motor is dry never ran, and i recieved an estimate of 500-700hp. who knows, but anyway. im running it with a freddy brown built th350, and a 373 rear. im getting an aluminum radiator w/ dual electic fans. i was thinking of getting a serp system like this:

but then i found an electic morose water pump and powermaster alternator for $70. so i got to thinking, should i run electic or manual. it would be a lot easier to buy a kit like that with everything i need, and just bolt it all up to the motor in one shot. im guessing i have to be careful if i want to get parts here and there and mount them on because of the different brackets, and styles on pumps, etc....

so what do you guy think?

Unless major advancements have been made with electric water pumps that I haven't heard of, the general consensus is they don't have enough flow for an everyday street engine.

Leave the electric pumps for the drag racers and get the serp system. I love mine. Release the tension and the whole belt comes off. No more fighting with several belts and adjusting each one.

I just looked at the one you posted. Go to the *U-Pull-It* yard and get one from a factory engine. That's the one I have. If you run an aftermarket belt setup, you may have problems finding a serp belt that small in the years to come and it offers no advantage (except for *bling-factor*) over a v-belt setup.
