I ran across one of these electric climate control units in a car at the yard. I want to create a cleaner look to my dash & move some things around. I think this would be perfect to relocate somewhere like in the armrest of my center console since everything is electric & I don't have to worry about moving the wire things that move the doors behind the dash. Have anyone ever did this swap before or have any information on how its done & have a list of parts that i will need to pull from the car? I already have my dashboard & engine out of the car so I have access to anything that I need to remove/swap out to get this electronic panel working.

That looks like quite the project. I've never done anything like that, but I'm guessing you would need just about everything inside the dash of the car you got that out of. Instead of manually controlling everything, there's probably servos that move everything based on your touch inputs.

I would try to find a wiring diagram for the car you got that out of. Try powering up that touch panel and see if there's any brains to it. Otherwise, there may be some other control module in that car. What car did you get that out of?

I'm guessing you would either need to get everything from that donor car, or at least figure out how it works. In other words, see if you can mod an existing Cutlass vent/blower system with electric servos and the like. Not an easy project, but would be sick if you could pull it off.

Back in my carputer/carpc days, there was someone that was working on a way to have a computer control HVAC controls in their car. You can maybe look into that. Just instead of a computer, use your touch panel to send the commands to a arduino or something like that.

I recently completed this swap on my '85 El camino. Parts came from a '94 Roadmaster. You'll need the head unit, Interior Temp Sensor, Sun Load Sensor, Ambient Temp Sensor, Blower Controller, and Blend Door motor. You definately want the wiring diagrams from the donor car, along with wiring diagrams for your vehicle. I documented my installation on my website, https://sites.google.com/site/darbyselky/home

please tell me you still have the blower motor resistor in this picture.... mine has burnt up and I cant find a replacement

If memory serves, some of the mid '80s Buick Regals and GNs had the electronic climate control system on them. I bought some seats from an '84 Buick GN last year, and I believe it had the automatic climate control HVAC system on it. I passed on taking those parts out of the car, because of the complexity of the system. The manual HVAC system on my car works well, and its reasonably simple to work on. Just a thought.

That climate control came in very few g bodies but I got a setup out of a cutlass years ago. it is the exact same setup that came in 84/85 and maybe a little older rivieras, my 85 riviera has it so if you need parts for it that would be the car to go searching for
