Hello all. With my SBB "build" being nearly halfway done, I have some questions:

I am putting in that Buick 350 in a few weeks and I was wondering, how hard is it to mount electric fans into a G Body? 1985 Bone Stock Regal Limited 3.8 N/A? The SBB, isn't stock by no means, but it's not gonna be a screamer either. Solid driver, 300hp max. (For now 😛). And should I spring for a new radiator? Mine worked fine last time the engine did. Also, that TH350 I got in the deal with the SBB had a cracked bellhousing so I decided to nix it. Will my TH200c hold up for a while under normal driving? It doesn't really slip at all. And I'm gonna put a TransGo shift kit in it along with new fluid and filter. It's probably never had either of those changed within the past 20 odd years. It only had 85k when I got it a year ago. Also got the pegleg 7.5. Any help is appreciated.

To replace that 200 will be a mildly built 200r4 and the car will end up getting an 8.5 w/ 3.42's close to that.

I would consider an F body Griffin Dominator rad, the one that is 31.25" wide. The Griffin A/G body rad is way too wide, go figure.
Dodge Stratus fit almost like factory and move a lot of air, just need to make brackets to secure them to the core support. Your stock rad is probably questionable to cool enough. Larger and assuming higher compression 350 with nearly double the cubes vs the 3.8. Give the TH 200 a try for now. If it goes JB weld might patch that crack till you get the 2004R built.

thanks man

Be very gentle with the TH200...They didn't always survive behind NA 3.8's.

Any pics of the cracked bellhousing? It may not be a big deal if its just a crack. Your stock radiator won't be good enough. This is the radiator I used on my build and it works great. http://www.championradiators.com/Oldsmobile-Cutlass-radiator-2-row-1978-1988 This is a stock fit radiator. It has a trans cooler and Chevy style heater hose port.
The bell housing cracked in such a way, right around the mounting holes that the little outer edge of the holes actually broke off.

I've got the dual fans off an 88 firebird, but they are the same fans that are put on the 90's caprice and roadmasters. Easy to find and mount move alot of air and are GM, so replacement motor's are only $30 if needed.
