I have an 83 GP, with an analog clock and alarm system. If the car sits for more than a few days, the battery gets drained. I've stopped using the alarm system for this reason, but my clock still runs.

I've heard from a few people that these clocks are known for this issue. Is this the only problem? If not, what else should I look for?

How do I disconnect the clock?

Thanks!

Well the clock can run all the time, but it's not enough to drain your battery if it's at full charge. My guess is just a small analog clock would take at least a few weeks to drain your battery. Sounds like you have a problem somewhere else, and it's likely a short or something is staying hot that shouldn't. First step is to take your clock out, then start checking all your hot wires with a test light or multimeter-- start with your largest ones (starter/solenoid/alternator/dist. etc) then work to the smaller interior ones

I had a burnt wire in my A pillar that was running hot all the time, it was making a circuit with the grounded body and would drain the battery in a few days. It could be something like that, only way to find out is to start checking wires

Those are helpful tips,

I' tried today to disconnect that stupid clock, and got lost and overwhelmed by all the wires... any hints to where I should look for this?

Thanks!
