I was looking for an Outside Temp display for my '85 Elky, and ran across some info on swapping in an Electronic HVAC unit from a '94-'96 Roadmaster. Thought I would give it a try. Here's a picture of the results:

The process for installing is not that difficult, although there were a couple of engineering challenges. I've worked out those issues, and have posted lots of pictures and details on my website. Feel free to browse them: https://sites.google.com/site/darbyselky/home

If you have questions, feel free to ask, and I'll try and help as best I can.

I like it! Very nice. 8)
Thank you for posting the link with installation info. Time to do some junkyard perusing.

Darby,
I just would like to add that your El Camino is absolutely gorgeous. Everything has been done tastefully. I love it.
Is the shifter also a GP item?

Jack, thanks for the nice comments. I've had a lot of fun getting to this point. As for the shifter, it is also out of the '04 GP. Used a B&M cable to hook it to the 200-4R.

Thanks Darby,
I like the console alot, and was just wondering if the shifter was compatible with either the 200-4R or TH 350, but you pretty much explained that. I have a Hurst V-matic 2 for a 200-4R. I was thinking of changing it out for something smoother like a GM OEM type shifter.
This shifter is too clunky for my liking. However, it looks good.
I was checking out your site and really enjoyed all your informative and subtle upgrades. You do nice work and definitely deserve kudos. Keep up the excellent workmanship.
