I've got an 87 monte ls, two problems, first, my right turn signal, and washers only work once and a while, Usually, by moveing the tilt up or down I can get the right turn sig to work, but the washers only work very occasionally. The left turn sig and cruise work always. And my second problem, power locks and rear defrost. Neither work right now, all I get when I try the locks is a click out of the pass side of the dash. I figured a fuse so I checked them, all good. Then one day they both started working up until a couple days ago. Now I'm back to a click. Is there a relay down there? Any ideas would be great

There is a circuit breaker for the locks which is in the fuse panel. As for the other issues, it sounds like you have a loose wire or two in the column or the switch. Try plugging the harnesses back together where they connect on the column. If that does not work, you will need a replacement switch. New they are pricey, used it depends. You will need one that matches your car's equipment ( with or without intermittent wipers, etc.), but you can pull it from a variety of sources in the junkyard. So long as it is from a GM car with that style switch and the saginaw column, it should interchange.

There is a relay on the passenger side behind where the computer sits. It is kinda stuffed inside the body????? If the relay is clicking see if power is getting to the door lock actuator with a test light or dvom. Switch is most likely good. If no power is goin from the relay to the actuator, replace the relay. Not sure about the other problems.

Did you ever find the problem with your locks and rear defrost. Mine started doing the exact same thing today. Any help would be great

The wires can break in the column where it tilts or can get pinched, causing intermittent problems.
The door locks may have stuck or worn out actuators. That clicking should be the lock relay,You are going to have to get in the doors and do some detective work with a test light,I recommend a self powered one that way you can check the switches and grounds.Power Probe makes a good one.
