Hey all. The engine in my car bogs up when I take it up to high speeds, or really put my boot down. Revs just fine in neutral, but when I try to get it up higher while driving is just starts choking, and it feels like a car is just ramming me from behind every two seconds or so. If you guys have any idea how to correct this, please share. I'm more than willing to get my hands dirty.

Note, this is a Chevy 305 smallblock running a 2bbl carb, with dual flowmasters and a 700r4 transmission. If you want pictures of the inside of the engine compartment, feel free to ask. I have a camera and lots of free times. I'd really like to get to work on this car, seems like such a shame for something so beastly to lose its fangs.

It could be a bad fuel filter, or a pump with too low a flow rating. As it is only a 305, I tend to think it's a bad filter. The 305 only makes around 150hp, so fuel flow should not be an issue unless the pump is failing, or the line is clogged or has a leak somewhere.

Or my 2bbl carb is actually meant for a 4 cylindar volvo and I just need a new carb. x.x

Had the same thing happen with my olds 307, turned out to be a filter clogged. In neutral there was no load on the motor and it didnt require as much fuel, gettin on it was another story and it did the same urs does. Could be a line clogged to
