engine harness interchange?

1. Will a 78 (v8) malibu engine harness plug into an 87 (v8) grand Prix fuse block?

Are all engine harnesses interchangeable with g bodies? I mean I know there's differences between v6 and v8s, TBI, and diesel. Please someone explain this to me or point me to a thread that does.. I've been searching for a few hours and I'm giving up 😉

So is this a dumb question I'm asking? I need a new engine harness and I want to make sure the plugs at the bulk head are the same for all g bodies within same engine family?
