v0603cnm

V=Flint engine plant
0603=June 3rd
CNM=1970, 350 (250hp), 2bbl, Powerglide

Not sure what the other number is.

I dont know if any of these numbers are chevy numbers but there is a web site out there just for chevy block, head, crank casting numbers that covers pretty much any small block and big block. And that site would be MORTEC.COM.

Yes, those are the correct numbers stamped into the pad of the block.
Maybe the 70 is a typo for 07, since that would make more sense...
I guess I'll have to double check my #'s and make sure I didn't get dyslexic when I wrote them down...

Here's what I've got for the #'s off the rear of the block... It's one of these three, though I doubt I'm lucky enough for it to be a correct Z/28 block... :lol:
#............CID....year..main bolts...notes
3970010....302.....69.....4...........Z-28 Camaro
3970010....327.....69.....2...........Trucks and industrial
3970010....350...69-80...2 or 4......Vette cars camaro

I scrapped off more crud and discovered the actual numbers...

V0410CMJ... that makes more sense...

V-Flint
04- April
10- 10th
code...year..CI.....HP...BBL..notes
CMJ = 1975..350...145...4....THM 350/400, federal
CMJ = 1974..350...160...4....t400 police

She's a pooch! :lol: at least it's not a 305 or something...
Though it did have an off-brand aluminum intake on it, and it sounds like it's got a bit more cam than stock in it...
Maybe I'll luck out and it'll be a 4-bolt main block...

At least you got the 010 block casting. They have a higher nickel content. More often than not they do have 4-bolt mains.
