Just received a 200 hp 350 engine from Jeg’s. I am swapping out the 305 in my all original 86 ElCo.
Installing shorty headers & dual exhaust. I will modify the trans cross member, and for now, will go back with the original 4 barrel carb.
Is there step by step instructions to help me with this endeavor?
Thanks in advance.

Take pictures. Lots of Pictures from all different angles.
Label Wires.
Be organized when it comes to Bolts/Nuts (small styrofoam bowls, write on them with a marker what they go to).
Some remove the radiator and rad support/crossmember to make things easier and give more room.. (and not damage the nose)

Nice Elco. Does that year the electric aided carb? I’d get it rebuilt either way. Alot of parts suppliers have down pipes for the exhaust. OPGI for one. I installed Magnaflow small cats in mine.

Might look into having a independent shop do the work also
I know that the going rate around my parts is about 700-750 for a install

check your local Craigslist for a mechanic doing side work

Couple of things to be aware of, if you are using the E4ME Qjet you will need a O2 sensor bung welded onto the headers. May also want to upgradd to a heated O2 sensor. 86 305s are one piece rear seal blocks while the cheaper 350 crate motors are 2 piece rear seal blocks which may require a different flexplate. Everything else should be a simple bolt in.
