exhaus and exhaust manifolds

I took my exhaust well what was there anyways, also took off my manifolds.
Were going to pull a part to see if there is any good manifolds and exhaust pipe that we can take off and place onto mine.

The reason I am doing this is my exhaust since there is no pipe really it heats up my block and makes my engine run hot and shuts the car down, I think.
So I am going to take the manifolds from a car cause mine are rusted really bad and just need some that are not as bad.
Also going to get pipe to where it comes from in front of my back wheel I love that look and style.

I am wondering if I should know anything before I jump into this and get caught up in something.

well id get shorty headers because it fits better, and because ya got an sbc in yer cutty itll be easy to find some for not too much money. and whie yer at it you can get a whole exhaust setup like mine(

) for ~$150.and you can route the exhaust where ever ya tell the muffler shop guy to put it. it cost me 300 bucks to get it welded in but i got turn-downs right after the mufflers.

That's exactly what I want too, 150 isn't bad at all.
I don't want them going all the way back I love the look of them halfway or in front of the back tire.

There is a place here called hi-way muffler their pretty cheap.
