I just put full length headers on my 78 malibu, but I'm getting that rumble/backfire sound from my passenger side during deceleration. I know I can tighten the header down a tad still, but I noticed a small hole on the #6 cylinder tube. It's probably only large enough to stick a needle in, if that. Does anyone know of a cheap and easy way to patch a hole like that??

for the pinhole in the headers, try ThermoSteel--I've had great success filling even larger holes in headers with it. It's good up to 2400 degrees. it's made by CarGo, and the PN is 18003.

I even used it on a brand new pair of ceramic coated headers that had a factory defect and it worked and looked great--couldn't tell a repair was made. just make sure the area you put it on is clear of rust.
