exhaust manifolds will they fit?

I have run into a speed bump.........I have a motor with a driver side dipstick but want to run manifolds in my sbc powered 86 cutlass. The problem with a monte carlo manifold is that the driver side manifold dumps right where my dipstick needs to go. Was wondering if anybody has run these manifolds or know if they will fit. These will allow me the room to have a dipstick.

I would try to find some from a driver's side dipstick car. I believe the changeover year was 1980, so it should be possible to find a set from a 305 or 267 G body that would fit. You may also want to consider a set of log style manifolds from a 3rd gen F body. Not positive on the fitment, but they are a much more compact shape.

the on in the picture is from a 77 monte. I cannot find any manifolds available for a 79 v8 gbody. that would give me a better idea if I could fit one. I just need a picture of a stock manifold off of a 78-79 monte or malibu. If I am right it should look just like the one in the picture that I posted.

Yes that style will fit. I ran them in my 83 Regal for years(car still has them on it). You will of course have to have some custom pipes made up for them. They will deffinatly clear the drivers side dipstick.

On that type manifold you can find them that have built in "spreaders" to keep the two end sections at equal lengths from the center. When installing you may have a hard time getting the bolts in the front section. You can buy a spreader that you stick in there and spread them apart to get the bolts in then remove them.
