Hello everyone. I have been lurking a while and need to seek your input on a question. I put a 1994 LT1 in a 1980 Malibu Classic and I am using the stock exhaust manifolds. I purchased a single 3" Y pipe back system from Torque Tech. I was planning on using the walker #40315 Y pipe that brings the manifolds together with a 3" outlet. My problem is the 40315 uses a 2 bolt flange and only has one O2 bung. I can change the flanges and install another bung. Will the 40315 bolt up to the LT1 Manifolds??? I hate to drop the cash only to find out it doesn't. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I`m not sure. What about true dual exhaust for your LT1 80 Malibu ?

I have no idea. Exhaust is usually something I have a muffler shop make and install for me. Usually cost a 2-300 for me to have a header back system custom made with a decent name brand set of mufflers. That part number is for a 92 caprice with a gen 1 sbc. I dunno if the manifold on an lt1 would exit out the same angle or not.

Well, I popped for the 40315 from Advance Auto. If it lines up I will change the flanges and add a second O2 bung. I will keep you informed. Can always return if it don't work.
I selected the single 3" mandrel bent exhaust because I believe with a stock LT1 it is adequate. I am not looking for the ground pounder effect with this car. Walker 3" super turbo is my muffler of choice. Whole deal with freight 511.00. Prob another 25 for the flanges and bung....

It is finished, but if I had to do it again, I will go another route, not worth the hassle. The fit is ok, it hit the lower control arm mount on the pass side and I had to clearance with a hammer a bit, it's a B body part and a couple inches wider. Not cut and dry by any means.....
