Hello I recently did fafsa 2010, I entered my gross income originally as 3020 dollars and recieved an EFC of 3780 or so. The problem I received was when I returned to make a correction of Gross income because I forgot to input the tuition fees reduction of $4000 which did not even benefit me. Afterwhich when I did so it made my new income -922. Thus raising my EFC to well over 6900. I realized the reason immediatly. My income is untaxed due to the fact I make so little, and plus my gross income was then negative thus making it look as though I recieved the income from my parents which I did not. The only thing accounting for this is my deduction credit from school. How do I go about solving this. DO i simply change the number. Or do I go about ammending my taxes which will be difficult to say the least deleting the deduction credit. My pell grant it gauranteed till March 1st so this message is rather urgent. I look forward to your response. Thank You for your time.

This is what i was going to say to the people on the phone but they didint answer. And come to find out this does not fix my problem. Turns out my EFC is still 6990. THe real problem is the following.

My mom makes 11K in SSI and I cant put it anywhere on the fafsa so there is like 11K missing out my dads gross income of 47K. THis is where the gov thinks I am recieving so much help from. Any suggestions how to fix this **** up. Its due in 2 days guys. I am going to call fafsa tomarrow as well.

Is that the national FAFSA deadline or one specific to your situation? I ask this because I was going to fill it out this year to see if I qualified for any grants or other assistance while I am in school. Does it go on adjusted gross income, or gross income? I'm an adult living on my own, so I don't know what to tell you about your mom's income as it is not pertinent to my situation. I guess I will go talk to financial aid tomorrow to see if I qualify. It sucks, but it isn't even about paying tuition and books for me. For me it's about paying regular living expenses while I am going to school.
