Are you cutting back your original fender to make the flares functional? I know it looks better if you use a wider rim and/or spacers but is there any benefit to actually cutting the original fender for more tire clearance? Even if its pushed out you still have the original fender lip under there to possibly snag the tire. I thought I had seen somebody cut the fender up some for more clearance but I may be wrong.

Yes, it's probably me you're referring to... just because I haven't seen anyone else on this forum do it.

I have fender lips from a camaro grafted in. Details on my cardomain page (link in my sig). It actually made a ton of room, as much as if you notched the frame for a mini-tub. Only I got that space without notching the frame and no mini-tub at all. Currently, it easily fits 295/50/15 Toyos. When I air-down to the bottom, I can insert at least 2 fingers easily between the tire and fender lip. So it will even fit a wider tire if I want (I'm thinking of trying Nitto NT555 in their 325/50/15, which might be a tight fit, or an easy fit for 315/50/15.. just speculating).

I checked your page out. Those came out nice. I will be using the grand national fender flares. How far back do you think I need to cut the original fender. I originally wanted to tuck some staggered 22's in the rear. The rear are 22x10.5. If I do the fender flares I know I probably wont be able to tuck it because it has the flare and is cut but it will allow me to run a bigger tire without having to jack it up. Also if I do have to push the rim out a little it wont look crazy because it is sticking past the factory fender.

Not certain how much to cut. I can say if you eyeball it and cut it out similar to mine, you should be ok to run a 10.5 rim/tire. Mine is a 10" wide rim. So your fit on a 10.5" rim will be very tight. Hope this helps bro.
