Looking for pics of the rear fiber optic light monitor above the rear window. Photos on or off of the car would be useful. If I knew what this looked like, I may be able to broaden the search to something other than Gbody. If anyone has any fiber optic components (front or rear) please message me. I don't think it matters, but this is for an 87 442.

I am certified in Fiber Optics, I might be able to make something, if you can't find it.

Best of luck, also thanks again for the info on my Olds engine the other week there man, you really helped with the knocking issue 😎🤘🤘🤘

20417837 is the housing part number. A87, A/G47 and G69 only as far as I can ascertain. Superseded to 20514676.

I don't have any pics, but IIRC, it's just a little wedge looking housing somehow fastened to the rear of the headliner (to which it is color matched) next to the rear window. Visible from the rear view mirror.

I don't know if it was shared with other makes/models, as I have no further info on them.

Is that definitely from a Gbody? Almost looks like it might go over the metal window trim, but maybe not.

It does. It appears to be in the right place. Would make sense as there's a "ridge" of metal that doubles as a place to put in the window trim retainers, as where that mounting screw would go into. And the back of the "wedged" area overlapping the upper inner rear window trim. I've never personally dealt with it, but I'm guessing the fiber optic lines would meet up at that center point, when routed through the trunk area on each side and up the sail panels.

As it's something that O.D. Showtime "had" it makes me think it's long gone, but if there was a part number on the back of the little housing it may be a part number or just another engineering part number, which doesn't necessarily mean it's a catalog part number.
