Here is the first paint job I’ve tried, I think it came out pretty decent. Super charger is next!

Looks good too me.

Do you know how much you spent in materials to paint it?

I am considering prepping & painting my own car for nothing other than the experience, but since I have zero supplies to prep/paint I don't want to spend more than just having someone that does it for a living.

Currently my paint isn't bad, main issue is the rear bumper & font end made from the plastic material where the paint has started to peel.

Yeah, so in total with paper, tape, trash bags, some cardboard, sand paper thos things cost me probably about 350ish. Then paint right at 300.

I already had the gun to spray. The most expensive part for me was buying an inflatable paint booth. It worked great.

Wow, that's not that bad, I don't think you can find anyone that would do a paint job for less than $2,500 at least here in my area.

I have an enclosed garage I could use as a spray booth so I might take the plunge & give myself a $1,000 budget.

Any advise for a noob?

Give yourself a few weekends to sand , tape, and prime bare metal.
get a pair of box fans to pull air in, and 2nd to pull air out. Use a good respirator.
have lots of beer on hand ….. the paint goes on a lot faster than I thought.

Prep, prep and more prep! take the time to go over everything. Sand until you don't have finger prints. Actually painting the car doesn't take long at all, its getting everything level and flat. If something doesn't feel right, take the time to get it right.
