Hello all, three posts in and I have a few questions in regards to a v8 I've read ear possible on the subject and am drawing a blank on a few things.

Currently I have an 81 Cutlass Calais with electric carb 231v6/ 200 metric trans.
I have a 307/th 350 short tail out of a 1972 truck to swap in.

I have the frame mounts for the swap but didn't get the block side mounts with the engine. Will the steels on the v6 work or is what I need available at oreillys/Napa?

Also the fuel line routing is a mystery to me.
Just looking to do a nice clean job, I'll be doing all the wrenching myself so any pointers/info I can use are extremely appreciated.

Thanks

Nope, need new blockside mounts too. Fuel lines, fuel pump, and starter are on the opposite side. Get a 120$ radiator from oreillys for a 305 Monte SS (g body of course) that V6 one aint gonna cut it. Get V8 Gbody springs unless yours are in really good shape as well as the shocks. Your car probably has an open 7.5 2.xx diff. A 68-72 a body (chevelle/malibu easiest to find) 12 bolt rear will fit, but it's wider and you need the control arm kit for it. Might need to relocate some mounts. Monte SS's from the late 1980s and Cutlass 442s had 3.73 posi rear ends but are still 7.5. Not ALL of them had posi, but about 80% of the ones you come across will. Open the trunk/driver's door and look at the RPO codes. G80 is factory posi. A 200r4 with a 3.23 gear or higher will be great in a G with about 350hp. But since it's just a 307 for now the rear is tolerable. In short, new engine and frame mounts, bigger SS/V8 gbody radiator, reroute fuel and battery cables (trans cooler lines maybe), and have fun. Also there are countless options for headers be it a chevy 307. Set up a good foundation for a 350 or similar down the line if you want more power (you will 😛).

Also yes, your driveshaft will fit.

Some Cutlass 442s, came with 8.5 rear axles instead of 7.5s.
