hello, lookin for some info on a summit racing/g-force crossmember. i recently installed a 350/350 combo in my 1985 monte carlo with a set of flowtech headers. these were much longer than the hedmans i had before. was wondering if the summit crossmember "humps" are directly in line with the exits of the headers? i had a dual exhaust put on the car with the first engine and things are just not lining up. the new headers fit pretty good but are higher up than headmans and i cant get the pipes up high enough on either side with new headers. the old setup has the pipe curved under the drivers side. ive cut the old stuff back to try and modify it to fit with no luck using the stock crossmember. looks like it will work if i can go straight out from the collector to mate up with the current pipes. hate to buy the new crossmember if the humps are not lined up straight with the new header collectors. if that makes any sense! also the other problem i have run into is this car has the factory floor mounted shifter and the drivers side collector will not allow the stock linkage to go past nuetral before the bracket on the trans hits. it is for the rod that goes back up to the sterring column. other than these issues im about ready to light this new engine off! thanks for any help or info, Jay

Can you send the flowtech's back, a lot of people me included started with flowtechs and found they are to close to the floor of the car. The reason your shifter bracket hits is because the T350 and T400 shifter linkage connection point is a bit lower in the car than the 200 so when it swings it hits. I switched to mid length headers to solve this.
