Found this yesterday and It just had to come home with me. 1986 Bonneville base model, manual windows, locks , seats , only real options was the 305, 4 speed auto, tilt,A/C and Cruise. 2.41 rear gear. Trans is bad. guy paid almost 2900 bucks to have it rebuilt and then had to take it back 3...

Well had the first oil change at 488 miles. I wanted to get the Semi synthetic out of there ASAP and I wanted to Check the drain plug magnet for any trouble and it just has a thin film of really fine material, Almost like the film of friction material in the bottom of a transmission pan. no chunks and the oil was fairly transparent. This is gonna be a decent engine, Just wish I had my smaller chamber heads on it. I found some vacuum leaks from some rotten vac hose. so I fixed that and hooked up the scan tool and re tuned the carb. and tweaked the secondaries, She drives like a dream. its like a whole different car with the sound deadener and the exhaust sealed up nice and tight now its just so easy to drive you dont want to stop.
