New member today. I purchased this car last year and had to do nothing to the engine since it has a crate 350 engine and it runs great. Replaced every piece of chrome and had Gaylord lid shipped out to Virginia since I decided this would be my new hobby for my retirement. Anyway MY QUESTION, The NEW front bumper black impact rubber strip ( all one piece) just has not sealed up like the back one. Front one is full of RIPPLES. I purchased it from the El Camino Store and of course its been way past 30 days so can't send it back. And yes it's put on right too.
Thought I would try and order another one from another source but can not find another source. Does anybody have a NOS or OEM hiding anywhere or a store that I can order from? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Michael

Best of Luck! i bought the last OEM strip that Original Parts Group had in stock about 3 years ago. Keep your eye on eBay, as I've seen a NOS piece show up from time to time, but unfortunately they won't be cheap. Sometimes the availability of a good repro part depresses the value of NOS, but I don't think that will apply here.

One chrome bumper came from him and about half the other chrome so have been very pleased with his products. Funny you mention him since I have his business card right in front of me. He's a interesting person, we talked for about a hour one night earlier this year. I'm not going to change it out until after the car shows are over with. Thanks

cool,i also want to install the "87" one piece impact strip, front&back but im gonna fab mine up using some metal plaster meshing for the contour bend and install bolts tha will portrude through the back and be able to be fastened with nuts and washers once the front is filled/formed with "fiberglass-resin-jelly".doing this because i want to bevel a seam in the middle of it to run a red pinstripe accent.and love to do "custom"work.post some pics when its done.good luck with rob.

Here is what you would be looking at

it is quiet pricey for an impact strip. Did you every try original parts group??
I think that's where I got the one that's on the car at the present time. It looks like a wash-board, if you know what I mean, just never seal up like I thought it would. It was 139.00 plus shipping. Wish I had almost just got all chrome but will buy another one probably from Robert H. That was great what you did last week over at the other site, I'm still on there but I used a difference name here just for the heck of it. Thanks, Michael

This really SUCKS, I ordered the impact strip for my front bumper on Sept 22 and it appeared on my Pay-Pal account and credit card on Sept. 23 and I got the bill from them a couple days ago and here October 8, I've yet received my ORDER. Yes I called Rob yesterday and he was going to call me back with a tracking number, plus I followed up with a e-mail to him. Today I waited until the mail lady came about 3:45PM here and no package. So called them again and got there answering service. I've not received a tracking number or returned phone call or e-mail .
In the past I'm sure I've done at least $2,500.00 worth of business with Robert and just a little surprised with no returned phone call, even if for someone reason they forgot to ship it at least tell me. I don't like getting the credit card bill with the charge on it and I've not received the product. This really SUCKS, thanks for reading my :soapbox:
