I recently did a dash swap and I went with all aftermarket gauges. I got everything hooked up except the fuel gauge sending unit. I can see the wire/connector above coming off the tank but I cant seem to find it under the dash. My question is what color wire would an 83 Monte Carlo have or would it be simpler just to run my own wire from the tank??? The stock gauge worked until I unplugged it awhile ago then it didnt work after that. One of the motivating factors to doing this dash swap was to get the spedo and fuel gauge working. Thanks for any input.

I dont beleived it changed but on my 79 monte i beleive it was pink.

follow the cooper circuit panel on the back where the gauges were and trace it back to the spot in the wire harness.

I would do that but my stock wiring is so bass ackwards. I looked into it further today but I think im just gonna run my own wire because the previous owner really had his way with the wiring. Thanks for the reply though.

in that case. your best bet is to run your own.

sucks, i hate hacked wiring.
