im putting a fuel cell in my 80 and am going to run a electric fuel pump. im looking to run 8an hose. Ive seen other people I run around with use the push lock or twist tight style hose for fuel lines. BUT, I have searched jegs, summit, etc and cant find any that is rated for fuel. I have to run a 50/50 mix of 110 and 91 and don't want the hose to degrade. does anyone know where I can find that style hose that is rated for fuel? or is it even that big of a deal. the part number my ol man gave me that he used on his 84 chevy short box with a 600hp 468 bbc is not rated for fuel but he has had no problems with it at all. any help or oppinions are appreciated.
thanks

The hose I have always used can be found on Amazon under FCV0815 it's Aeroquip brand and it is compatible with all fuel, I wouldn't take a chance on non-fuel rated hose but that is just me

thank you very much. just out of curiosity, what is the difference in the hoses? why would one be rated for fuel and one not, in my summit catalog they are both listed in the same department. the summit twist tight hose says not recommended for fuel.. and the aeroquip stuff your talking about has no info on there about what its rated for. im not doubting that it is indeed rated for gas, just curious I guess.

I would assume the rubber is not meant for fuel, if they say its not compatible i wouldn't try it. I have used all brands of push lock fittings with Aeroquip hose, I only use steel push lock fittings tho, when it comes to socket style I only use Areoquip fittings on Aeroquip hose, the Areoquip push lock can be a bear to get on the fitting, put the end of the hose in very warm water to help it stretch over, make sure you flush the lines before install they like to tear chunks of rubber free

thank you for your information. I appreciate it. I just ordered the areoquip hose and fittings. no sence in mixing brands. this way I know for a fact that the hose and fittings are made to go together and I don't have any problems. I plan to get the fuel cell mocked up this weekend and get the hoses ran and what not. thank again for your input!!! 😀
