fuel pump

believe fuel pump went out car started started driving an heard a pop noise might been exhaust but then the car started dying.. car stalls out go to start it starts up dies off again so thinking pump went out.. now the one that's in there is inlet an outlet with long handle... i'm lookin at autozone an there showing me a short handle?? so is it suppose to be long handle or short handle its for 80 calais

Depends on the engine that you have... You could always decode the vin to figure this out or you could look on the sticker under the hood. Once you've figued out which engine option you're car has, just goto napa and have them give you the correct pump...
