i cant find what fuel pump i need... 86 307 however i have an inlet and outlet and the long arm is pointing down . thought maybe they put in 74 cutlass fuel pump same design but the arm on it is point up not down and everywhere autozone, murrays only showing short arm for 80 cutlass??

If the motor is from an 86 307 that would be what pump you will need. Unless it's not a 307.

pump

so then since theres a long arm that fits now .. would the small arm work? that'swhat it call for 86 cutlass small arm, and ok on the pump in middle fuel shoots out from there and not sure where it's suppose to go since mine dont have it

There is only an inlet and outlet for fuel on these pumps. The inlet has a rubber fuel line into it and the outlet has a steel line to the carb. I am not sure what you mean when you say fuel is shooting out of the middle, unless you don't have the outlet hooked up. Maybe an explaination of exactly where the fuel is coming from would help.

The middle fitting is for the fuel return line,
since you didn't say what year and style of car you have I'm wanting to say it's not the original engine in the car.
Do you have the pump out of the car and have a picture of it, would help alot.

Here's what one for an 80 Cutlass with Olds 307.

pump

first pic that's what i need.. now look at the pic flip it over the arm is facing up that is the correct way it should go right? on mine currently it's all the same except arm bent downward but the whole reason why i'm changing it is cause feels like losing pressure at certain low rpm.since tacs arent accurate at 3,000 rpm it'll drop feel slugish till midrange then drives fine

Yeah the pump goes in with the fittings facing the hood like in the second pic. A weak fuel pump could make it feel sluggish but so can some other fuel parts.
Whatever you do, replace the rubber lines too at the same time you change the pump.
