Hi guys.. Supposed to pick up a frame tomorrow morning for cheap to keep as an extra to build up for later.. Can you confirm this is a g body frame? Guy says it's from late 70's early 80 g body... I looked at my regal frame and only one side has that a perch.. 3rd pic is my frame.

Yes its definitely a Gbody frame. You can tell by the missing rear support that its not an A-body from previous gens. Also the trans crossmember mounting area has that wierd transition where it goes from boxed to non-boxed. Also the many many holes for various corporate engine motor mounts.

I was trying to find you the thread to explain this, it has some nice pix, but i cant seem to locate it.

The difference you are talking about (dont quote me on this) is El-Camino/Caballero and Wagon mounting locations. I believe only the perch locations are different, and you could cut/reweld them if you had to.

Maybe someone else can clarify. But its still a G-body frame.

Looks like a Camino frame since there are no body mount holes ahead of the rear ones. Wheelbase is longer than all other G bodies

You can also see where the Camino mount tabs on the inside of the rails have been torched off at the bend

If you don't mind me asking what's the price on that looking to buy a frame in the future for my 4 door to do something wild with the suspension so I can have it ready for the swap while still driving mine until I do the swap.

Camino frames are 9 inches longer it will not work without modification.

I was hoping it was for an El Camino.. I'm made an appointment with the guy to go measure it . For 60 bucks I think it's a steal
