Alrighty, and I'm back. Two Questions this time. First, my G Froce 200r4 crossmember. transmission mount, mine has the offset mount on it right now and I need the center mount to work with my crossmember. Is there an easy one to look up to find the right mount (a different year or transmission or something)? And second question, my Mallory (its either a 4309 or an 8309) fuel pressure regulator. How do I need to hook this to my exsisting fuel lines? Remember I'm working with an origanal fuel injected car that I'm keeping the factory in tank pump and useing the supply and return lines with this regulator along with a new pump wireing harness from racetronix http://www.racetronix.com/RX-G7-FPWHG.html . My regulator has four ports on it. How do I hook my factory fuel lines to it? Do I cut the ends and just use hose and clamps or is there too much pressure? And where is a good place to mount the regulator? Lastly, how and where should put a fuel pressure gauge? Thanks again for the help everyone

what fuel pressure do you plan on running? if it's only 10psi, rubber lines will be fine. if it's any higher i'd highly recommend steel. if it's over 30psi you pretty much have to run steel. or the special plastic lines with the special connecters that GM uses.
if the regulator came without instructions i'd call mallory and ask them. you probably need a brake type flare on the lines.
i can only think of 3 lines--supply from the pump, feed to the engine, and return to the tank.
i'd put the pressure gauge inline just before it hits the engine.
edit: is the fourth port a small one, like for a vacuum line? some are vacuum controlled. if that's the case mount it on the firewall. otherwise you want it on the frame, as close to the tank/pump as you can.

alright, well I'll be useing the stock 87 4.3 FI pump for now and a stock early 70's Q Jet just to get everything up and running. Everyone say's 5-7.5ish psi to the carb but I'm not sure what exactly the stock pump pushes. My factory fuel lines to the throttle body are bent all weird and two different sizes. One will fit the spots on my regulator (3/8" although I'm not sure yet if it'll leak) and the other is smaller. My regulator has four inlet/outlets all 3/8" and a 3/8" return port on the bottom along with a vaccum port. Based on the factory pumps pressure I don't know yet if I can try to cut and splice the factory lines and use hose. Or, do they make fittings that'll thread onto my factory lines to fit my regulator? By the way thanks for the transmission mount info. I got one sitting next to me from a local shop.

i'd have to recommend calling mallory and ask them. that's an awful lot of ports. sorry i couldn't help
good luck, let us know what turns out.

alright, I got it figured out. The bottom port is the return. The for that go around it are all either supply or to the carb ports in pretty much any order/configuration they just made so many for multiple mounting options. The other two get plugged. Now all I gotta do is figure out the whole fitting situation. It's cool though, I might just have it! Thanks for attempting to help

Nope, still stuck with no fuel

What would you guys recomend I do with my factory 4.3FI fuel lines to hook them to my fuel pressure regulator? I still havent been able to figure out what kinda pressure my factory electric fuel pump pushes to know if I can cut the steel lines and use hose, or if I should just figure out fittings and how to mount my regulator to my passenger frame rail were the lines end? Has anyone else delt with this?

The factory TBI pump would push around 15 psi, if memory serves. Also, for a mount, try a TH200 4R mount for a Monte Carlo. I used one on my car with the stock X member, and it is centered, not offset. The offset one was only used on 3 speed autos in G bodies.

actually, I already figured out the transmission mount situation. Although my car has a 200r4 and did have a factory offset transmission mount. I figured out that for some reason the same year, same transmission, had a different mount for the V6(offset) and the V8 (center). Where I'm stuck is the fuel line situation, I have no fuel. So would you say it would be alright to cut my factory supply and return lines??? (to use hose)

From what I read, it is a bypass regulator correct? If so, I would try it with the factory lines and see what happens. I would also use a gauge inline with the fuel supply to the carb, so that you can set it at the appropriate 6-7psi so that it does not over run the needle and seat. Worst case scenario is that you end up running either braided stainless or pushlock lines on the supply side of the system, and rubber on the return. It really all depends on where things are lining up. If you could post a picture of what you are attempting, and where the lines are, it may be helpful in giving out advice on this matter.
