one of the perqs of my new place is an unused 2 car garage. i'm looking for advice on a good space heater for it so i can continue to work on the car. i can't stand propane so all that's left (i think) is kerosene and electric. which do you guys prefer and how big do you think i need to go?
thanks

Why not propane? My father in law let me borrow his Ready Heater for awhile and its the only thing thats worked well... my 2 car is not insulated and it actually heats the whole place well. The line was plenty long and I ran it under the garage door.

And if your really against propane then get the kerosene version.

I would definitely get one of those ready heaters in the kerosene versions, they heat really good. They can be pretty noisy though.

i've always hated the smell from the propane heaters, but the kero ones don't bother me. the salamanders (torpedo) heaters i really like for rapid heating but not as much for steady regular heat. plus they don't work if the powers out.
which is more expensive now, kero or electric?

Have you considered wood or oil burning heaters?

well it'd have to be low fume since i just rent and won't be cutting an exhaust vent hole. really i'm looking for something semi-portable so i can get it out of the way easily but that i can have run for hours without constant adjustmants.
