I have a 1978 buick regal it had the factory 305 chevy 2 barrel motor in it originally. But i have put a 1974 chevy 400 smalll block in it. I have flowtech painted headers on it and for some reason i am having a problem with the 350 trans linkage being up against the header on the drivers side header. Has anyone else had this same problem if so how did you fix it.

Is this a new header install or are your pipes already in place? If it's like mine it is near the end of the collector and the guy that was installing my exhaust just took a section of exhaust pipe, stuck it up the collector for leverage, and bent the header away from the trans a little. If your exhaust is already installed maybe you can disconnect the exhaust at the collector and bend the it away a little bit and finesse the exhaust enough to get it to reconnect. Just my thoughts on it.

I believe there's an aftermarket linkage offered through jegs and others that is a direct replacement. Its bent to clear the collector flanges and install directly into the stock column shift linkages. If i remember correctly it is made by Lokar.
