Getting computer codes

I have a 81 cutlass with a 260 check engine light is on. I tried searching how to check codes but I have a 5 pin connector and everything that comes up has 2 rows. Can anybody explain how to get the codes of the computer.

connect a jumper wire between terminals D and E of the connector (the Last 2 terminals) with engine running

I just tried it and it didn't work light didn't flash at all.

Never heard of a 5 pin ALDL, only 12. Do you have a pic?

You jumper A to B To get the Check engine light to flash the trouble code.
