I need it like a hole in the head but not passing up this super rare and ugly duck for $600. I was getting 87 Cutlass parts at an old salvage yard back in 2007 or 2008. I seen it in a fenced area of the yard and asked the owner about it. He said it belonged to a friend that was holding onto it cause he thought it would be worth a lot of money some day. Fast forward to today. I just happen to remember it this morning and drove over there. The salvage is ran now by some Spanish speaking guys that could not understand me. I went to a different salvage just down from it and got the original owners phone number. He said it is for sale and its $600 with the title. Then he told me the BAD news. It had an engine fire and the hood is warped and the plastic stuff in the engine compartment is melted. BUT, he had gathered parts from another turbo century and got the hood, heads, intake, carb, turbo, harness, inner fenders, fan shroud, etc. He said there's more parts but he could not remember everything. It sounds awesome so far but we'll see Tuesday. I just happen to know of another salvage that has a 4 door Buick Century aero. It will be cool owning the Olds Salon and a Century. I never liked the front end of a 78-9 Century aero. Do any of you guys know what would interchange? Like maybe 4 door Regal header panel? Anyone got any Century aero parts?

The Buick sounds like a cool car. Hopefully, you can get all of the parts that you'll need to fix it up. If you get a chance, post some pics. I'd be curious to see what the car looks like.
If the front sheetmetal looks like I remember, I thought that those cars looked pretty good. I'm not sure what would interchange. The dash and instrument cluster looks kind of funky in those cars too, doesn't it?

They're cool cars and quite rare. They were kinda slugs though, as far as performance is concerned.

My plans are a carbureted 4.3 Vortec with single intercooled turbo. I want to build the piping and place the intercooler to look like 86-87 Grand National set up. Nothing super powerful but peppy. I've owned and built three 87 Buick GNs since the 90s. I have a brand new complete Grand National turbocharger in a box here and a friend has the Vortec 4.3 in his shed for $100. I have a spare 700R4 trans too. I don't like working on hot air Buicks.

That would be a nice drivetrain in that car. Hopefully, in the condition that it's in currently, you won't be getting in over your head. I've never seen one of those cars in person, only in pictures.
I would think an aluminum core support would be included in that year Buick. I guess you'll find out soon enough.

Roadkill on youtube had a datsun 240z with a 4.3 and a powerstroke turbo on one of their episodes. Don't know if you have seen it. It was pretty neat.
