GP and gears

In researching gears, I saw an old post that said all GP's came with 3.08 gears. This was neither confirmed or denied. did they all come with 3.08 gears?

I'm sure there was more than one gear option. But then again, I did once own a GP, and it came with 3.08s.

nope! mine had lame 2:xx gears from the factory. It originally came with the LG4 305, th200c trans..though when i picked it up it had a th350 and 4:10's... Alot better but gas mileage sucked!!

My 84 GP does not have 3.08's, I believe it is 2.73's but not sure. But it is definitely in the 2's

i have an 81 gp and mine came with 2.41 gears....was your guys grand prix's with 3.08s v8 cars

1987 with 229 gears ,and they suck .

You still have the sticker in the underside of your trunk lid i can look it up in my shop manual thats where mine is in a parts code .

Yeah my 3.08s were on a V8 (301) car.
