Grand Am bezel into 84 GP

I like the look of the silver Grand Am dash bezel, but are rather hard to find. I have an 84 GP and I would like to replace woodgrain bezel with a silver one. Was there ever a silver one for 82 and later? The 78-81 has the wiper switch on the dash and won't work for me.

If not, is there a special paint out there to make this silver?

The later ones I think had silver around the edges and down at the bottom, but not on the full face of it. The older woodgrain ones are black at the bottom. Don't think there were any silver-face ones that late though.

I believe you're looking for that brushed aluminum look?

What I would do, if you are willing to sacrifice your dash a bit, is buy brushed aluminum vinyl. That's all that is on the dash anyways. Then apply it over the wood grain.

That or, get some very thin gauged aluminum and cut it to fit where the wood grain shows.

I used the second method with my Xbox mod. I simply cut what I needed and used carpet tape (double sided tape and extremely strong) to hold it against the wood.

My old reagl I painted them silver with aluminunnnnnn or however you say it paint color. Like a header paint. Then after a few heavy coats took some steel wool to them to scuff them litely to give it that brushed look.

That's an early dash bezel with the wiper switch opening in it.
