Grand National rearend swap question

Hello I have a guy who is going to sell me a stock 8.5 rearend from a GN. Well it has stock posi and 3.42 gears. Anywhoo what will I need to do to have the rearend handle 550HP. I know I will need a c clip eliminator. Other then that I am not sure

You'll need to shorten your driveshaft 1" for starters.

As far as internals, an upgraded carrier is a good idea, but it'll handle the power.

Are you running slicks on the track? If not it will be more than good enough the way it is.

I might but most of the time just street tires.
