My Grandpa bought this '85 Cutlass Supreme brand new. He passed away about 15 years ago. After that, my crackhead uncle had it. He stored it in my Aunt's backyard and then he went to prison. She passed away and the property was condemned. The car was to be picked up and sent to the junkyard but the towtruck driver recognized it as my Grandpa's and he knew my mom. Called her and she had 48 hours to get it gone. Her husband popped in a new battery and fresh gas and drove it home. They let it sit in the California sun for about 10 years. I picked it up a year ago and and drove it 800 miles to where I live in Washington. She's rough but running and driving. All stock aside from the stereo and wheels. Been cleaning her up and looking into motor swapping one day soon.

You got lucky for sure. Around here they impound them, and sell at auction or on CL/FB if they think they've got a good one...especially one that nice.

Hope your mom sent the driver a nice thank-you, good honest wrecker drivers are hard to find

nice save, and love the story. looks pretty nice to have been owned by a crackhead, and basically abandoned behind a house for that long. glad it's been rescued!
