Tonight, I confirmed my theory on the bulbs for the euro headlamps on the 87-88 cutlass and the 86-88 monte luxury sport.
As many of you know, the bulbs for both hi and lo beams are both 9004 type bulbs. 9004's are dual filament bulbs (seperate hi and lo in same bulb).
My theory was that if the lo-beam burned out, you could swap with your hi-beams and have working lights. This makes sense because only one filament (hi or lo) was used up in each bulb. Swapping your hi's and lo's would fix the problem and cost nothing.
Turns out I was right!!! One of my lo-beams burned out, and I swapped it with my hi-beam and it worked like a charm!!!!
I know this was a little long-winded, but I wanted to explain why this works as well.
