Whats up with the Griffin Dominator 7008 radiator? It is marketed as a bolt in replacememnt but its dimensions of 33.25 x 18.62 seems to be too large. Does anyone know what is required to make this fit? I'm asking because I may be able to aquire one on the cheap. thanks!

They also make one that is 31in wide as opposed to the 33in size, I think it is a 7010 or something like that, they are under $275 and have 1.25in tubes and work great. I bought the 33in. wide by mistake but I did make it fit, took a lot of cutting on the core support but looks and works great.

Thanks joc,
That's what I'm worried, the fitment. I may be able to get it for cheaper than the 31x19 thats why I want to know about fitment.

I have no idea why they list that rad as fitting a G body. I will be ordering the F body Dominator radiator, supposed to fit well.

I see how the F body would be a good fit at 31.25 x 18.62. Since its listed as for manual transmission cars will you just bypass the need for a transmission cooler and route them to an external transmission cooler only?

Buzz,

Can you tell me how you came about this part number? Was it a listing on the Griffin website? Was it something that may have been purchased through Summit? Griffin sells allot of the 7008 (28.00" X 18.63" core) and the 70010 (26.00" X 18.63" core) radiators for those cars but I know the 70010 is the most common for that application. Note to all when purchasing radiator(s) make sure that you go by the core size of what you have. I work at Griffin but I am an enthusiast too and understand when you receive a part that you have ordered and it is not correct it can be catastrophic due to timing and or money. If there are any questions I can help with please let me know.

Hello Jimmy,
Its part of the dominator series:

Its listed in the summit catalog for 63-90 a/g body cars 8-7008. Also the Griffin website has it listed along with part # 8-70010 when using the vehicle search feature. The 70010 seems to be the better choice (31.25x18.62x3), but out of my price range.
