Why do they not made a 1980 grill ? I see that they make every other year but 80. Is there another year that is interchangable ?

The original tooling for the 1980 grille was stolen. That is why none of the repop guys have come out with them yet. ECParts may have reverse engineered one for their own tooling, but if they have they are the first I've heard of to do it.
Incidentally, the 1981 grille and headlight bezels are a direct bolt-in replacement, and only a big-time nitpicker will spot the difference ('80 grille had vertical bars, '81 had the horizontal). You have to use the '81 headlight bezels with the '81 grille. That's what I did on my car, and I actually like the look of the horizontal bars better.

Thanks for the info elco_80. That helps out alot. I have an 1980 grill. But it was painted black in the middle with the ouside still chrome. I there way to restore the grill or no ?
i have a 78 and im planning on getting a new grille and cutting out the center part and going to mrgrille.com and ordering there home made grill kit and then geting one of those trailer end caps thats a skull that has eyes glow red and mounting it on the grille for some added effect. i think itll look nice. and maybe some back lighting of red. should look good at night.
