hi i wanted to knw if anybody might knw why my enigine starts hard after i run it for awhile ?its a chevy 400 sbc stock in a 78 cutlass.and it seems to start easyer when i press on tha gas.carb is a edlebrock 600 cfm.any ideas would help thanks?

I dont know I had a 305 do the same thing to me last summer. I ran it for around 30 mins., parked it. After 15-30 more mins I went to start and it never did. I held the gas a little and it started. A few guys told me it couldve been my timing. After checking my timing chain it was a little worn.

I think its the timing too...
Same thing happened to me for the longest time I ran it like that then an old chevy guy noticed it and said pop the hood. he adjusted the distributor a bit and it started waaay better forever and ever after that. I got a slight bump in torque when I did that too. It "felt" better when I pinned it.

timing, this happened to my second Regal I had with a 3.8L GM crate
