guys, based on recommendations here, went with the 3" system along with the dynomax mufflers. Keith was a great guy, too. Now, I have to buy headers. Dart small block, angle heads. I'd like to buy stainless. Hedman? Any others? American Racing? Any input appreciated.

I have a Torque Tech dual 3" system also, but with Flowmaster Delta Flow 50's. I went with Hedman Husler 65218's uncoated, then welded on collector rings and had them coated. Best headers I've ever ran period, fit great(a lot better than smaller ones from other brands). All together set me back about $1000 for the headers.

Chris, thanks for the help.. Excuse my ignorance but with the collector rings, was the choice either weld them or clamp them? Then, where did you send them to get coated? Thanks man, as you can tell, I'm outside my comfort on this. Thx

Well I got them raw steel for two reasons: 1.So I could weld a collector ring on them. (I just thought it would work better for me rather than using a band clamp on the slip fit.) 2. In case the tubes needed "dinged" a little for any spark plug, frame or suspension clearance. For the ceramic coating I sent them to Moore Power Coatings in Waverly, Nebraska; which is only an hour from me. They do all the coatings for Speedway Motors exhaust and I have to say it was cheaper than most, looks great, and has held up great too. Very happy with the work they do.

Where are you guys buying the 3" TT system? I looked and it seems sold out and I can't find TT's website.

How much is the 3" system? Do they have side exit kits?

I believe they are retiring.

Here is the page for X-Pipe Kits:

This is everything from the headers to mufflers.

They also sell complete kits:

A lot of them are sold out though. The prices they are currently offering are pretty hard to beat. If you read, all the complete kits are 3"-3.5" from the collector back to the X-pipe which is where the larger tubing is required. Most small blocks would be fine with 2.5" pipes after the X-pipe or mufflers as by then the exhaust velocity is fairly low.

I wish more places has the behind the wheel exit over the rear bumper.

The more I research, the more I think a ordering them raw, fit them, then send out for coating makes sense. I have air, and all... Angle plug afar heads going on a dart block. I'll call hedman directly. Did you consider American Racing also? Thanks!

Nope, I don't know why but I never did think about American Racing. They probably just slipped my mind. I also run a Dart block with angle plug AFR's. Plus I also run solid engine mounts which are a lot smaller than stock mounts, but there were no tubes even close to the mounts. If you don't mind running a short oil filter, I know guys have had good luck with Schoenfeld headers also for a lot cheaper.
