Most of you have probably seen if you've taken apart a fairly unmolested Gbody that there is a seal or sort of filler gasket between the header panel and the fenders. I've seen this on several Cutlass's over the years and was curious if anyone has found a source for these, if they just make their own, or if they toss them in the trash and go. I was considering putting them back on my cutlass since im swapping the header panel out. I can only imagine that their only purpose was to fill any possible gap between the header and fender and/or tam down any rubbing on the fiberglass from vibration.

When I repainted my 84, I used a sheet of that dark gray Fel-pro fiber gasket stuff and made my own. Took a piece of notebook paper and pieced together the brittle and broken one that came off, then traced it out on the sheet and cut it out with scissors. Bolted it up and it's been holding up now for 20 years. I'll have to do it again when I re-do the 85, but this time I think I'll try and get my decal cutter thingie to cut it for me when I make a template. 🙂

That's ONE idea. Yours and others' may vary.
