Header Panel

i have a 1981 el camino and i want to swap the panel for a 78. do i also need to swap the core support or can i use my 81core support with the 78 panel?

same question if i find a 82 header panel, do i need a 82 core support along with the 82 panel or can i use the 81 core support with the 82 panel?

really looking to go with the 78 look but if i cant find it then ill go with a 82 look, thats why im asking both questions. thanks.

82 and up has wider openings for the quad headlights, otherwise they are the same. Never attempted it, but one might be able to modify the openings on an older core support to fit the newer header panel.
