headers and transmission

My flowtech headers were put on, and they are about an inch or 1 1/2 inches away from the transmission. Could the heat from the headers damage the transmission oil? Also, do I need special sparkplug wires do resist heat?

I didn't have a problem with mine and we beat the ##ck out of it!
If you spend some time routing the wires you shouldn't have a problem.

i ran flowtechs years ago on my 79 malibu. never had a problem with it.
