looking for nice deep tone, no glass pack crackle, I am redoing the exhaust system over the next few months, need to know what headers will fit nice with my factory air conditioning, i have a 355, approx 350 hp, thumper cam, performer rpm intake, q bog rebuilt for engine specs, rebuilt 200 r4 , 373 rear end and posi hope thats enough info ! lol

So actually need headers,( long tube or mid / shorties) exhaust kit? or get it fabricated ? mufflers ? and what size exhaust ?

Its mainly cruzin 1800 rpm at 80 kmh. My transmission wot shifts are going to be brought back down to 5000 to 5500 rpm as right now she shifts at about 6200rpm but runs out of guts at about 5700

current has flow tec headers for an f body and the driverside points straight down ! and it has 2" with cheapo mufflers. so need to upgrade.

What I did on my olds was from the long tube headers back I got some 2 1/2 in pipe and fabed from their. Short pieces to a Summit H pipe kit and then more 2 1/2 back to a set of Summit mufflers. I also notched the trans cross member and did a little work on the floor pan. Car picked up 4/10 over the exhaust that was on their. Not sure on the headers because they were on the car when I got it.

Forgot to mention I'm running hedman husler 62518 headers

so far im into the the hooker 2466hkr headers, and i like the SGG12V system, also read that turning the mufflers backwards sounds better ? I am running cats on my car now with dual 2" and idling it kinda pops intermittantly both sides once its at operating temp. Has anyone else had this issue ? I hate the way it sounds.... Just wondering if its related to size of the pipes or the converters, or maybe my mixture ? is it possible the converters are igniting fuel and then load up again then fire again ?
