Hello i own a 1986 cutlass supreme and i am buying some headers for it. I looked on the current exhaust manifold and see that there is a Oxygen sensor but on the headers Ive looked at they do not have a spot to put it on. Do i need that sensor? or can i just take it off? anyone no a solution? thanks a lot for your time and help. - |2A|N

Most headers will not come with the O2 sensor bung. If you are still using the computer, you will need to keep the sensor. I am not sure if this is the right way to do it, but it might keep the computer happy enough. You can get O2 sensor bungs from the parts store or Summit and you can drill a hole in the header and weld the bung in.

Why this might not work is because it would only be getting the exhaust from one side of the engine. BUT, since those computers are so basic, it might not matter.

i heard from someone, i'm not to sure how reliable it is, but is there somthing called a "dummy plug" i can screw it to so it will trick the computer into thinking its fine?
