Cutlass ´80 with Chevy 350 engine from 1970s, not sure whats been done to it, except i see holley carb and e-brock aluminum manifold on top.. it still has iron heads with stock log style cast iron manifolds. the car has usable dual exhaust, it will do for now, even it is on small side (2" or 2.25"). so i dont want to start building a complete new exhaust or modify the current one just to get headers fitted.
but i would like to get little more out of the engine for minimal work and cash outlay.. changing to headers is supposedly the first simple things one should do to gain some more torque. as the torque moves the car and this car is a cruiser to me, so little more low end torque will do just fine for now.
i have read that with stock engine one could expect powergain up to 10-20hp and 30-60lbft in torque with headers, and that would be just fine by me.. one can actually feel that increase already.
So i am looking for headers that would just bolt on in place of the stock log iron manifolds. no real modifications, no welding, bolt on. quick and easy.
so which cheap shorty headers are the ones i should look at? thanks in advance.
